Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American Canadian singer and songwriter. Over 20 albums were released by her. The music of DiFranco has been described as folk rock as well as alternative rock, but it has additional influences from punk funk hip music and jazz. Ani Difranco has been widely acknowledged as a pioneer of music that is feminist. In the year 1990 she was one of the first artists to create her own independent record label. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23 1970 her parents Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco and Dante Americo DiFranco, who been in contact while at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is of Italian roots and her mother was Montreal-born. Ani's song, 32 Flavors was written by her, and performed by Ani. The track was first released in 1995 on the sixth album Not a Pretty Girl. Another version of the track is included on the movie soundtrack of 1999's Canadian love story Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco apologized in 2013 after it was revealed that she would be hosting an event for three days at a Louisiana plantation for slaves. The workshop was cancelled, but many (including this paper) didn't detect remorse. DiFranco released a new apology days later. While she's best known by the name of Little Folksinger. Her music encompasses many different types. Her collaborators range from Pete Seeger and Chuck D to Prince. New Orleans is where she lives. Ani diFranco as well as Kristen Ford are together.
